Spring Start-ups:

Usually around May 1st, you can turn your water on as follows...

Before turning on any water to the system, make sure all manual drain valves are returned to the "closed" position. Open the system main water valve slowly to allow pipes to fill with water gradually. If these valves are opened too quickly, sprinkler main lines are subjected to high surge pressures, uncontrolled flow and water hammer. Listen carefully and after 15 to 30 seconds depending on the size of your system, you should hear the water stop. If after 45 seconds the water continues to flow, it could be a leak therefore SHUT Off the water and a Technician will check it out at startup.

The spring is a perfect time for repairing any damaged components that may have resulted from our harsh winter conditions here in the Georgian Triangle. During the opening we ensure that all heads are functioning properly and that the water coverage is suited to individual needs. Spring time is when you want your lawn to come out of it's winter shock quickly and easily. We will verify the proper operation of each zone valve by manually activating it from the controller.

Let Georgian Sprinklers Inc. check your system and make all the necessary start up adjustments. We'll adjust and set all the heads. Set up your timer and install a new battery if one is required. During a complete pressure test we check the system for leaks and repair them after a brief consultation and upon customer approval. If major repairs are required, we will book that service call within 1 week. Also Uncover and clean the system rain sensor, if applicable. Finish and clean any in-line filters for drip irrigation zones.

Winterization:

We offer winterization service for all types of irrigation systems. The winter closing is another essential duty because all pipes must be cleared of water before the first freeze. Most of the components are delicate to frost and would break in the cold. Therefore, Georgian Sprinklers Inc. provides peace of mind by professionally closing the irrigation system in the fall.

No job is too small. All systems need to be winterized and with the right equipment. Our winterization service covers all types of systems; Residential, Commercial, Industrial, and Athletic fields. We use the high volume air compressors to winterize the system properly without causing damage to the components. This eliminates most damage caused by freezing and assures the job is done right!
